What You'll Learn

The program is made up of milestones, or challenge-based steps where you’ll gain hands-on experience and master a concept before moving on and eventually completing the entire challenge. Have a look at what you'll accomplish over this 3-week program in each milestone.

1
Get the data
This challenge follows the steps of the Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) approach according to (Fayyad et. al., 1996) which divides the process of data-mining and extracting insights into several distinct stages of work. Your goal for this challenge is to come up with insights about the current situation of power chargers by using cutting-edge technology and machine learning approaches. After using the KDD process, you will deliver a report to the management of KfW.
2
Get familiarized with the dataset
In order to start analyzing our dataset in respect of the relationship between car characteristics and CO2 emissions, you need to set up your Integrated Development Environment (IDE). In this challenge, we’ll be using tools for programing in Python to collaborate and share your code.
3
Prepare the data
This milestone will help you to prepare the dataset for Data Science activities. After the first introduction to Data Science, we are now facing the first practical step in order to get dealing with the data.
4
Start exploring the data
Before we fully dive into analyzing the data, we will take a closer look at it and familiarize ourselves with the dataset. We will start by describing the data from a statistical perspective and visualizing them.
5
Pitch your insights
It’s time to consolidate your insights about the dataset. In preparation for the challenge discussion, augment your presentation from the preceding milestone with recommendations in order to give them a data-driven decision guide.
6
Modeling the data
The next step is to model the data. For this step, you’ll build a supervised prediction model to predict or cluster the data.
