What You'll Learn

The program is made up of milestones, or challenge-based steps where you’ll gain hands-on experience and master a concept before moving on and eventually completing the entire challenge. Have a look at what you'll accomplish over this 3-week program in each milestone.

1
Become a possibilist
To start, you’ll take a general knowledge test about the state of the world. The test was developed by Hans Rosling and the Gapminder organization and was used in Rosling’s book Factfulness, which you’ll explore in this milestone. After you take the test, you will reflect on how your mental models may have shifted. You will also reflect on what we can learn from our misconceptions about the world to move towards a possibilist mindset.
2
Connect your business model to the SDGs
In this milestone, you will use a business model you have already developed, or a business that you are familiar with, and the list of SDGs and targets to prepare a summary of the business model you have chosen.
3
Move beyond compliance and the business case for sustainability
In this milestone, you will again use the business model you have selected to foster a deeper impact. You'll do some research to identify and further sustainable ethical and sustainable solutions.
4
Challenge discussion of sustainability foundations
In the challenge discussion, you'll share how the business that you have chosen relates to the SDGs. Be prepared to share the ideas you have from milestone 2 where you identified closely related and less closely related SDGs.
5
Submit your sustainability foundations deliverable
At this point, you will reflect on the feedback you’ve received during the course discussion. Now it’s time to improve your project and write an explanation for your submission.
