The B.Sc in Artificial Intelligence & Sustainable Technologies will provide you with an awareness and a structured way of thinking. You'll be enabled to tackle current problems using Data Science methods and gain a highly interactive and hands-on introduction to the most important, state-of-the-art Data Science techniques

The Program

Expertise in the field of AI is highly saught after. In this program you'll learn about topics from machine learning and natural language processing to expert systems and robotics.

Modern state-of-the-art Machine Learning techniques, in particular, make it possible to gain novel insights from Big Data structures. This is where you come in — you'll become the AI and sustainable tech leader our future needs.

Build solid academic knowledge
  • Develop a solid foundation in IT, network, database and programming fundamentals, and systems analysis and design
  • Analyze and visualize rich data sources, learn to identify data trends, and generate data management strategies
  • Create an environment where Data Science as a discipline of generating data-driven information and knowledge creation is internalized

During the B.Sc in Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Technologies you will gain a highly interactive and hands-on introduction to the most important, state-of-the-art Data Science techniques. That is, you will not just learn about the theories of concepts, methods, and techniques, but always apply them in practice. This helps you to conceptualize use-cases and internalize taught concepts.

Competency Profile

You’ll move through phases of learning based on your individual readiness, allowing you to transform at your own pace. The four distinct phases are called: Orientation, Calibration, Elevation, and Activation.

During all phases, you'll have a personalized dashboard to set, track, and reflect upon your learning goals. One major goal of every single program at Tomorrow University of Applied Sciences* is to learn how you learn best. Each phase requires you to develop relevant competencies. In your personalized dashboard, you’ll be able to track progress with each challenge you complete.

Orientation Phase

The Orientation Phase consists of six introductory modules of 5 ECTS CP each and prepares you for your learning journey. It helps to establish a common mindset across your cohort and to become familiar with the Tomorrow University way of learning. To support purposeful learning, you start with Mission Identification & Learning Insights to craft your very own personal mission statement.

Calibration Phase

The Calibration Phase introduces you to the relevant fields in your study program. This phase offers comprehensive and practice-oriented experiences to introduce you to the main subject and research areas in your field through solo and group challenges. The Calibration Phase lasts three semesters and you will complete 18 Calibration challenges. Only after having chosen 11 Calibration modules of one program, do you take a final decision on the path you want to choose.

The interdisciplinary approach mimics work-life — you’ll work together with peers from other study programs and complete at least 4 modules from neighboring programs. You’ll have the flexibility to dive deep into your field of interest or pursue a more interdisciplinary approach by choosing 11-14 Calibration modules from your field of study. The total of 18 modules, 5 ECTS each, throughout three semesters is the core of each study program and prepares you with the necessary competencies to enter the Elevation Phase.

Elevation Phase

In the Elevation Phase, you'll create solutions for some of the grandest challenges of the 21st-century. Each Grand Challenge focuses on a challenge in the subject matter area of one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and is designed together with a Tomorrow University cooperation partner. Your mentors will guide you through each challenge. Beyond the challenge-based approach, this phase fosters meaningful relationships between mentors and students.

It also allows you to exercise and iterate upon your academic knowledge in the context of group challenges, internships, service projects, research, and entrepreneurship. In total, you will complete three grand challenges, each ten ECTS CP: two from your own study program and one from a neighboring study program.

Entrepreneurship Lab and Corporate Lab

After having acquired competencies and subject matter expertise in solo and group challenges in the Elevation Phase, you circle back to your personal mission statement and translate your knowledge to your very own real-world application throughout the Activation phase. By this time in the program, you’ll be ready to start your own startup in the Entrepreneurship Lab or work on an innovation project in collaboration with a company in the Corporate Lab.

In this phase, you’ll hand in a proposal for your very own venture idea or a corporate innovation idea. As innovation in its early steps is all about learning and experimenting the proposal, will essentially be a list of hypotheses and experiments designed to test the idea in the market. In a three-day kick-off, you will design your roadmap with experts and mentors from the field. You will be guided and receive feedback throughout the entire process. In the safety of the University, you'll be able to test and try your most ambitious ideas.
