Gabi Lipan’s academic research blended applied psychology and higher education, examining how graduate attributes and employability skills are defined, understood, and assessed. Gabi earned a PhD in 2021 exploring gaps between student, academic, and employer perspectives and how these attributes can be translated into practical assessment.
His doctoral work introduced the 7i model, which standardises graduate-attribute language across UK universities, alongside a behavioural marker system that reframes these skills as observable behaviours. He has also contributed to research translating learning science into practice.
His current work applies behavioural science to technology-enabled education, focusing on digital learning systems, collaboration, decision-making, and user-centred approaches to long-term skill development.
