Milena Kensy’s journey spans continents and industries, from her multicultural upbringing across Uruguay, Berlin, and the U.S. to her career as a high-fashion model in Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, and Europe. Her experiences with diverse cultures and influential mentors have shaped a distinctive worldview that she now channels into business development and entrepreneurship. Driven by a lifelong passion for learning, Milena’s unique path has led her to Tomorrow University, where she’s now pursuing a degree that aligns with her mission for positive societal impact.
Before stepping into the world of entrepreneurship, Milena built a successful modeling career, appearing in Vogue Hong Kong, Harper’s Bazaar Malaysia, Elle Russia, cover page of the South China Morning Post, and featured in L'Officiel Monaco. These roles taught her discipline, resilience, and how to cultivate professional relationships—skills that serve her well in her current roles in business development and operations. Working across Dubai, Jakarta, and Hong Kong, Milena collaborated with visionary leaders, immersing herself in the world of startups and sustainable business, further fueling her passion for social entrepreneurship.
As she reflects,
“Traveling the world and meeting entrepreneurs showed me that business can be a vehicle for positive change. I realized that to succeed, I needed a solid foundation of knowledge and practical skills.”
Milena’s search for a forward-thinking educational program led her to Tomorrow University of Applied Sciences. Drawn to ToU’s commitment to sustainability, technological integration, and social intelligence, Milena found the institution’s online, community-driven model ideal for her dynamic lifestyle.
“The ability to study remotely while connecting with a global cohort of changemakers allows me to keep up with my business aspirations without sacrificing my thirst for knowledge,” she shares.
At Tomorrow University, Milena finds herself surrounded by a community that values diversity, innovation, and entrepreneurship—qualities that mirror her own ambitions. She is particularly inspired by the university’s emphasis on hands-on learning and its commitment to preparing students for a 21st-century career in business.
Milena’s educational journey with Tomorrow University has already opened doors. An interview she conducted for the “Introduction to Entrepreneurship” module led to her invitation to the KL20 Summit 2024, where she engaged with global leaders and innovators. She was further invited to a forum discussion from the government in Indonesia. “That single encounter during my course opened up a whole new side of the business world,” she recalls. Opportunities like these have been instrumental in expanding her network and understanding of entrepreneurial challenges and solutions in Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
In her roles as Business Developer at Syailendra Capital and PT. Heritage Amanah International, Milena applies the skills she’s developing at Tomorrow University to real-world challenges, working on new business setups, client relations, and strategic operations. Her hands-on experience allows her to blend theory with practice, making her education immediately relevant to her career aspirations. The network of educators and mentors at ToU, including Dr. Thomas Funke and Prof. Dr. Maximilian Lude, have become guiding figures, helping Milena navigate the entrepreneurial landscape with confidence.
