
Dr. Maren Ingrid Kropfeld
Dr. Maren Ingrid Kropfeld is responsible for Sustainability & Entrepreneurship and (as of October 2023) Program Director for the Impact MBA at Tomorrow University of Applied Sciences. As a sustainability expert with a PhD on Sustainable Business Model Development, Maren strives to connect and inspire people to create a sustainable impact by cooperation. Maren's research focuses on sufficiency-oriented business models, sustainable consumer practices, sustainable business model innovation and postgrowth business models. In her time as sustainability consultant she has gathered experience in developing sustainability strategies and creating sustainable business solutions for clients from various industries. She is committed to bringing together the relevant actors from industry, politics, the non-profit sector and academia to shape the socio-ecological transformation together.
Maren's research focuses on sufficiency-oriented business models, sustainable consumer practices, sustainable business model innovation and postgrowth business models. She explores the structural and conceptual implications for business models that follow a sufficiency-oriented, circular and/or regenerative approach. As businesses are key players in our society, Maren strives to design truly sustainable business model solutions that support sustainable consumption patterns and contribute to a sustainable transformation of the economy to work within the planetary boundaries.
