Dr. Maren Ingrid Kropfeld

Dr. Maren Ingrid Kropfeld is a Professor of Sustainability & Entrepreneurship and Program Director for the Impact MBA at Tomorrow University of Applied Sciences. With a Ph.D. in Sustainable Business Models and Consumption Practices, Maren is an ardent sustainability advocate, wholeheartedly fostering collaboration and inspiration for sustainable impact. Her research centers on sufficiency-oriented business models, sustainable consumer practices, business model innovation for sustainability, and post-growth business models. As a seasoned sustainability consultant, she has honed her skills in crafting sustainability strategies and viable business solutions across diverse sectors. Maren's unwavering commitment lies in uniting industry, politics, non-profits, and academia to drive socio-ecological transformation collectively.

Research

Maren's research focuses on sufficiency-oriented business models, sustainable consumer practices, sustainable business model innovation and postgrowth business models. She explores the structural and conceptual implications for business models that follow a sufficiency-oriented, circular and/or regenerative approach. As businesses are key players in our society, Maren strives to design truly sustainable business model solutions that support sustainable consumption patterns and contribute to a sustainable transformation of the economy to work within the planetary boundaries.
