Is Tomorrow University a Good Alternative to a Big-Name MBA?

You found Tomorrow University while comparing MBA options, and you want a straight answer. Harvard and INSEAD win on brand recognition and alumni scale, and we do not compete there. We are Tomorrow University of Applied Sciences, a state-recognized online university in Frankfurt, Germany. That's an accredited degree and a lower price. It also comes with a built-in focus on impact. Whether that trade works for you depends on what you need the degree to do.

What Does a Big-Name MBA Give You That We Don't?

A degree from Harvard or INSEAD carries a signal that a conservative employer reads instantly. Employers weigh that signal most heavily in elite consulting and investment-banking recruiting. Firms like McKinsey and Goldman Sachs recruit almost exclusively from the M7, a group of seven elite US business schools. A handful of top international programs also make that shortlist.

Fernstudi.net, an independent German analysis site, confirms this pattern. It notes that a German online MBA is generally not part of that recruiting pipeline. A famous name on your degree gets you noticed before anyone even looks at what you actually studied.

That gap gets even bigger once you look at how established these schools are. Decades of graduating classes give them a large alumni network active across almost every industry and country. We reached state recognition in 2022. We cannot match that reach yet, no matter how engaged our own learner community already is.

How Do the Numbers Compare?

You are trading prestige and network size for a lower price and more flexibility. The table below lines up the concrete differences. It uses ECTS, the credit system European universities use to measure course load, for program length.

Where We're Strongest

Our strength really comes down to accreditation and applied credibility, backed by a structure built around a working adult's life. We became a state-recognized university in Hessen in 2022. We were the first EdTech startup in Germany to reach that status.

Our bachelor's programs are accredited by the German Accreditation Council through FIBAA, an independent European quality-assurance agency. Our Impact MBA and master's programs go through ACQUIN, an independent German quality-assurance agency. ZFU, Germany's state authority for distance learning, has approved our online format.

In 2024, the World University Rankings for Innovation ranked us first in Germany and 25th globally for leadership-education innovation. That result comes from our own reporting. It is worth weighing alongside more established rankings.

Our Impact MBA skips the written exam. Its capstone phase runs as a challenge co-designed with named industry partners. Eintracht Frankfurt's digital arm, EintrachtTech, co-designed one of those challenges.

Plan A and Kelp Blue have partnered on others. So have Deutsche Bank and SAP.

The real trade-off shows up in how the degree is built. Our Impact MBA's 90 ECTS accelerated track works if you already hold 210 or more ECTS credits. Without that many credits, the longer 120 ECTS track applies instead.

You keep your job and your paycheck while you study, since no career break is required either way. The German ranking source Profiling Institut describes this exact pattern in online MBAs generally. You get real flexibility and a lower price, but the network and reputation are still being built.

Is This the Right Choice for You, or Should You Look Elsewhere?

We're a good fit if you want an accredited degree without giving up the job and income you already have. You're also a good fit if you're headed into tech or mid-market consulting. The same goes for most corporate roles, where a strong general-management degree does the work.

This program suits you too if you want a focus on impact and sustainability. Most flagship MBA curricula treat that only as an elective.

Look elsewhere if you are targeting a top-tier investment bank or a top-tier strategy consulting firm. Recruiters there hire almost entirely out of M7 schools and a handful of peers.

Look elsewhere too if a multi-decade alumni network is the outcome you are paying for. The same goes for an in-person flagship cohort. Both are legitimate reasons to choose a different path. Neither one makes our degree any less real.

What to Check Before You Decide

If elite consulting or investment-banking recruiting is the goal, research the specific M7 programs and their placement statistics directly. That pipeline runs through a small set of schools.

An accredited degree that fits around a job you are keeping is a different starting point. Start with the curriculum on our Impact MBA page, which walks through it in full. Verify the accreditation details yourself on our ministry accreditations page.

An executive-level format calls for a different comparison. Our Global Impact Executive MBA page lays out that structure, and our financing page holds current cost details.

Does the MBA count as a real academic degree in Germany?

It's a state-recognized academic degree, full stop, not a certificate or a short course. Hessen granted that recognition in 2022, and the German Accreditation Council reviews the program through ACQUIN. Graduates receive a full academic degree recognized under German higher education law, valid across the EU.

Will European employers accept an online MBA from Tomorrow University?

For most corporate and tech jobs, yes, plus mid-market consulting. It is not usually a fit if you are aiming for elite consulting or investment banking. Those pipelines draw almost exclusively from M7 and a small group of peer schools. Outside that narrow lane, a state-recognized online MBA functions as a credible general-management degree.

How does the cost compare to a top MBA program?

It sits well below flagship full-time programs, which run into six figures once tuition and lost salary combine. You don't lose that income at all with us, since you keep working while you study. Current pricing is on our financing page.

Can you complete the Impact MBA while working full time?

The 90 ECTS track is built for exactly that. It runs about 18 months full time or 24 months part time. A longer 120 ECTS track is also available. Neither version requires a career break, and both let you keep your paycheck.
