What is a master in business psychology (Wirtschaftspsychologie)?

A master in business psychology (in German, Wirtschaftspsychologie) applies psychology to the world of work: motivation, teams, leadership, and organizational change. Tomorrow University does not offer a degree by that exact name. The closest applied equivalent is our MA in Applied Psychology with the specialization Organizational Psychology and New Work, an accredited German degree you study online.

What is a master in business psychology (Wirtschaftspsychologie)?

Business psychology, or Wirtschaftspsychologie in German, is the science of human behavior in economic and working life. A master in the field makes psychology the core discipline and applies it to real workplace questions: what motivates people, how teams work well together, how leaders behave, and how organizations handle change. It sits between classic psychology and business, and it is deliberately applied rather than clinical, so it is about people at work, not therapy or treatment. Programs vary by university, but most build on foundations in work, organizational, and personnel psychology, then add methods, diagnostics, and a specialization. One honest note up front: Tomorrow University does not offer a program literally named "Wirtschaftspsychologie" or "business psychology." What we offer is the applied equivalent, and this page explains what that field is and where our degree fits in.

What does a business psychology master lead to?

It opens applied, people-focused directions rather than clinical ones. Graduates typically move toward organizational development, people and culture, talent and learning, coaching, change management, or New Work consulting, the kind of roles where psychological evidence shapes how people work and grow. Because it is applied and not a clinical qualification, it does not train you to practice therapy or become a licensed psychotherapist. If a clinical, licensed path is what you are after, that is a different route entirely. The strength of a business psychology master is depth in the science of people at work, which you can carry into almost any organization.

Can you study business psychology online at Tomorrow University?

Yes, as our MA in Applied Psychology with the specialization Organizational Psychology and New Work, which is the applied equivalent of a business psychology master. It is an accredited German degree, accredited through the German Accreditation Council via ACQUIN and awarded by Tomorrow University, and you study it 100% online while you keep working. You choose from five specializations in total, and Organizational Psychology and New Work is the one that maps most directly to business psychology topics. The program runs at 90 ECTS Credits (18 months full-time or 24 months part-time) or 120 ECTS Credits (24 months full-time or 30 months part-time). Entry requirements: an undergraduate degree, about one year of relevant professional experience, and English at B2 level. A psychology bachelor is not required, and related backgrounds such as business, social sciences, education, health, or technology are welcome. MBA or master in business psychology?

Both can lead into the world of work and people, but they are different degrees: an MBA is a management degree with psychology as one lens, while a master in business psychology makes psychology the core. At Tomorrow University the two real paths are our MA in Applied Psychology and our Impact MBA with the specialization Conscious Leadership and Organizational Development. We compare them properly, including who each one fits, on a dedicated page (see Related questions).
