Can you study psychology online?

Yes. You can study applied psychology online through our Master of Arts in Applied Psychology, an accredited German degree you complete 100% online while you keep working. You choose from five specializations, from coaching to organizational psychology, and finish with 90 or 120 ECTS Credits. It is an applied, workplace-focused degree, not a clinical psychotherapy path.

Can you study psychology online while working?

Yes, and that is exactly what our MA in Applied Psychology is built for. The program is 100% online and self-paced, designed to fit around a full-time job with no on-campus requirement. You study through Challenge-Based Learning, applying each topic to real situations rather than memorizing theory, and you move through four phases: Orientation, Calibration, Elevation, and Activation. Depending on your track it runs at 90 ECTS Credits (18 months full-time or 24 months part-time) or 120 ECTS Credits (24 months full-time or 30 months part-time). Live sessions are delivered in English, and if you enroll to study in German, your in-app learning content is available in German too.

What is the MA in Applied Psychology for?

It is psychology applied to people, teams, and organizations rather than to clinical treatment. You pick one of five specializations for depth: People Development and Coaching; Self Leadership and Longevity; Organizational Psychology and New Work; Human-Centered AI and Tech; and Systemic Transformation and Change. That makes it a strong fit if you are drawn to roles in coaching, people and culture, organizational development, learning and talent, or change. You do not need a psychology bachelor to start. A related first degree in fields such as business, social sciences, education, health, or technology is welcome, alongside about one year of relevant professional experience and English at B2 level.

Is an online psychology degree recognized?

Yes. Our MA in Applied Psychology is an accredited German higher-education degree, accredited through the Akkreditierungsrat, the German Accreditation Council, via ACQUIN, and awarded by Tomorrow University. Tomorrow University of Applied Sciences is a state-recognized private university under the State of Hesse, and its distance-learning format is approved by Germany's ZFU. There is no separate "online" caveat on the credential. For the full picture, including how a specific country or employer may treat a foreign degree, see our accreditation page below.

Does it lead to becoming a psychotherapist?

No, and we want to be upfront about it. This is applied psychology for the workplace, not clinical training. The MA does not lead to Approbation, does not confer the protected title Psychological Psychotherapist, and does not qualify you to practice psychotherapy or begin psychotherapeutic training. If becoming a licensed psychotherapist is your goal, we explain the honest route on a dedicated page (see Related questions). If applied, organizational, and coaching psychology is what excites you, this program is a strong, honest fit.
