How does the Impact MBA work?

The Impact MBA is an online MBA at Tomorrow University that you take at 60, 90, or 120 ECTS over 12, 18, or 24 months. It runs on Challenge-Based Learning across four phases, lets you pick a specialization such as Sustainability & ESG Management, and is accredited via ACQUIN. Admission includes an entrance exam.

What is the Impact MBA?

Our Impact MBA is a Master of Business Administration built for working professionals who want to lead with purpose, not just manage. It is 100% online and self-paced, designed to fit around a full-time job, with no on-campus requirement. Instead of sitting through lectures, you learn by working on real challenges, then choose a specialization that points the degree at where you want to go. The degree is awarded by Tomorrow University, a state-recognized German university based in Frankfurt am Main. One note on the credit total: to graduate with the MBA you reach 300 ECTS in all, counting the credits from your previous Bachelor's.

How is the Impact MBA structured?

You choose the size that fits your background and goals:

  • 60 ECTS in 12 months
  • 90 ECTS in 18 months
  • 120 ECTS in 24 months

Whichever version you take, the program runs on Challenge-Based Learning across four phases:

  • Orientation: foundational challenges that build your management base
  • Calibration: where you customize the degree through your specialization track
  • Elevation: applying what you have learned to real, interdisciplinary problems
  • Activation: a Master's thesis or applied project with faculty supervision

Because it is challenge-based, you work on actual business questions rather than only case studies, so the skills transfer straight into your role while you study. For a full breakdown of the cost across these versions, see our page on how much an online MBA costs.

What can you specialize in?

Calibration is where you shape the Impact MBA around your direction. You choose one of five specializations:

  • Conscious Leadership & Organizational Development
  • Strategic Innovation & Business Transformation
  • Responsible Entrepreneurship & Venture Creation
  • AI & Technological Transformation
  • Sustainability & ESG Management

Each one keeps the full MBA management core and focuses the rest on your field. If sustainability is your direction, our page on the online MBA in sustainability and ESG goes deeper into that track.

Who is the Impact MBA for and how do you get in?

The Impact MBA is built for professionals with a few years of experience who want to move into or up through leadership. Eligibility depends on the version:

  • 90 or 120 ECTS: a Bachelor's with 180+ ECTS and at least 2 years of professional experience
  • 60 ECTS: a degree with 210+ ECTS and at least 5 years of relevant experience

Everyone needs English at B2 level. Admission includes an entrance exam, which you complete online on a rolling basis within a four-week window, and you can only start studying once you have passed it. Relevant professional experience can also count toward your credits, which can shorten the path.
